Un vez antaño, el mar bañaba la actual calle de Santa Lucia, la calle que hoy corre paralalela al paseo marítimo Nazario Sauro donde está situado el Villa Miramare S.r.l.. El paseo marítimo que más adelante cambia de nombre convirtiéndose en calle Partenope, Via Caracciolo y via Nerfelline y que fue construido en los últimos años del 800 y a principios del siglo pasado.
Villa Miramare S.r.l. fue contruido originariamente como «Villa Patrizia», una villa aristocrática en 1914, y fue transformada en hotel en 1944 después de albergar el consulado americano durante un corto período de tiempo después de la guerra. Era también el único hotel de la ciudad pues los otros fueron dañados seriamente. Por esto, la inauguración del «Miramare» fue protagonista de numerosos artículos periodísticos y columnas sociales, donde se hacían eco de las numerosas actividades y eventos, simbolizando su nombre el renacimiento de Nápoles.
El Villa Miramare S.r.l. fue inicialmente conocido por su famoso restaurante y piano bar, The Shaker Club, que estuvo abierto entre 1947 y mediados de los 80. En esa época estaba entre los locales más de moda y frecuentado por celebridades, dignatarios y grandes empresarios industriales importantes que llegaban con sus yates. En ese momento era posible atracar los barcos justo enfrente del hotel, ahora los barcos son atracados un poco más arriba en el puerto Margellina.

Directions by car from autostrada:
Follow the «Zona Portuale – Via Marittima» sign on the autostrada until the end. Choose exit «Via Marittima». After exit, go straight in the direction of Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) until you reach the tunnel. Turn left before the tunnel; after about 200 meters you’ll be along the sea. The street becomes a one way street; follow it until it ends – where you’ll have to turn right. After making the turn, you’ll take the first left (Via Orsini), and then make the second left onto Via Cuma. Go straight until the end of the street and make a left onto Via N. Sauro. Villa Miramare S.r.l. will be on your left. The garage next door costs 15 euros per night.
From Capodichino Airport:
The airport is located 7 km away, and is easy to reach by taxi (about 20 minutes). A pre-arranged taxi from the hotel will cost 27 euros. BY CAR: after the airport exit, turn right and take the «tangenziale» in the direction of Pozzuoli. Exit at «Fuorigrotta» and keep going straight. Go through the small tunnel and keep going straight in the direction of Campi Flegrei Station which is at the end of the street. Turn left and go straight, passing through a longer tunnel. After the tunnel, take the second right (the sea will be in front of you) and then make a left (the sea will be on your right hand side). Keep going straight for about 3 km. and you will see Villa Miramare S.r.l., a small grey and pink villa, on your left (just before the road turns left away from the sea).
From Centrale and Mergellina Train Stations:

It is possible to reach Villa Miramare S.r.l. from Molo Beverello Port on foot, following the sea (about 10 minutes). If you have luggage, however, you might choose to take a taxi which should cost around 15 euros. Add 2 euros per bag.
